Rice Cereal

So we tried rice cereal last night. We had Katelynn in her new highchair, thank you Nanaw Mickie, and we attempted solid (not really at all) foods. She seemed to know what to do with it, but once the spoon went in her mouth, she just tried to lick the food off it. Oh well, we'll give it another week and then try again.

Stellan..

If you have a moment please visit the blog of a truly amazing mother. Her 5 month old son, Stellan, is having some health issues, to put it mildly. I don't ask this often, but please pray for Stellan. http://www.mycharmingkids.net/

Katelynn......

Katelynn seems to have picked up a little stomach bug. She acts perfectly fine but we are having some issues. She is not running a temp but we are having to change quite a few diapers and fighting off a case of diaper rash. She is such a great baby, though. She is still in such a great mood. I mean does that baby look like she doesn't feel well?

Life Saver......Page Savers

Not only am I behind in my list and reading books but I am behind in reading my magazines. I scanned thru my Martha Stewart LIVING mag and saw these page savers and thought they were great. It says you can use the ungusseted bags (hallmark bag) or envelopes and cut across the corners.
They can mark your fave recipes or I use them for any and all books that I am currently reading. I think they are really cute. Suggestion: if you are using an envelope, use the lower two corners because the top ones come undone.

101 Things in 1001 Days

This is something that I started in February and I have to have completed by October 30, 2011. I had quite a bit of fun finding 101 things that I wanted/needed to do. I picked a few things that would benefit Brian, a few more that would benefit Katelynn and of course a couple for just me. I am starting to get a bit nervous. It has only been 52 days but I am falling a bit behind on some of them. An example, my number 9, "Read 101 books and every third must be non-fiction." Do you know how difficult this one is going to be? That is a book every 10 days. Do you think I can finish even one book? Katelynn doesn't quite understand that I need an hour or so a day to just sit and read. Running into this same issue with number 57, "Read the Bible." It has still been fun. (You can bet that I will find time for number 6, "Get a mani and a pedi." Really looking forward to that one. I will get to use the gift certificate that Katelynn gave me for Christmas. Such a bright little girl.)

I will keep you posted on how this is coming.

We're Finally Here......

The 21st century that is. Yes, Brian and I finally got a computer at home!! Since having Katelynn we realized just how out of the loop we were. Our family has also started to spread further and further over the globe (California, Chicago, Eindhoven...) so I decided we were going to bite the bullet and get a laptop and start a blog. We'll see how long this lasts.
