Lovin' Life...

And lovin' the rice cereal (and I am lovin' my baby's baby blues!!). Katelynn is becoming a pro with the cereal feeding. She is getting more in her mouth than on her face, that is always a bonus. We have done rice cereal for the previous three days and all is going well. She has not had a reaction of any kind so Saturday....(dramatic pause)......we start with the orange veggies. Sweet Potatos, Carrots, and Sweet Potatos and Corn. Well, we won't be trying all three of these on Saturday, but we will start with one. And the winner is, whichever one daddy agrees to try first. =) I keep telling him we have to try whatever we feed K. I tried the rice cereal, wet cardboard. So it is Brian's turn for the babyfood. We will let you know how it goes. Hope everyone has a great Friday. It seemed like it took forever to get here!!

Arts Festival.....

Katelynn went to her first of many Arts Festival Saturdays this weekend. It was perfect weather for sitting on a grassy hill with new friends and BEAUTIFUL babes!! Katelynn loved being outside and was very interested in all the activity that was going on around her. We met Abbey and Jason and K's almost birthday twinn, Emma, and then two of their friends, Chad and Jamie and there 13 month old, Makalyn. We all just chilled and had some good conversation. It was a great time. Afterwards, Daddy K and I went to grab something to eat. I mean, we couldn't go to the Arts Festival and not get a Strawberry Newport!! And it was the BEST so far. I gave K a bite of the pudding and the whipped cream. She really didn't know what to think, but I felt rude sitting there eating in front of her. Daddy got BBQ and chocolate dipped cheesecake. (That was nice, too!) Sunday rolled around and Katelynn was still a little tired from the day before, so she and I stayed home from church and K caught up on some much needed zzzzz's. She slept through the thunderstorm last night, she was that tired. She is such a good girl. Hope everyone has a good Monday!!

Say "CHEESE"......

So we went to have our 5 month pictures taken this Monday. We raced there and then had to wait but Katelynn was in a pretty good mood. Brian and I decided to have her wear her Easter dress since we didn't get in for Easter pictures. She took some pretty cute pictures, but I thought it might be nice to show off some of the not-so-cute ones (which are still pretty cute.)

He will be having surgery this Tuesday in Boston. Please remember to pray for him and his family and doctors.

Busy Saturday

Well, it was another whirlwind weekend for the Batemans. It was nice to have a Saturday without any real plans, but that doesn't mean we weren't busy. We decided to head out to the mall and buy daddy some new shoes....really, he needed new shoes. So we went to Quail Springs mall. After that, we thought we might go out to Sheplers and look for B's Father's Day gift. (I know it's early, but since we had the time.....). But before that, we went downtown to the Memorial. It was such a nice day, we loaded up the stroller and took Katelynn to see the Memorial. There were quite a few people there and they were setting up for the ceremony that was held there today. It is such a beautiful, serene place. It is amazing that there are so many people from out of state that still visit. I hope that never changes. Next stop, Sheplers. I hadn't been there for years and it is still the same. We looked at boots for daddy but we found an extra special present for Katelynn. Cowgirl Up! What a cutie. We had to get her a hat!!!! We finally made it home and ate leftover Eischen's chicken and watched Pineapple Express. (YES! Brian finally watched a MOVIE!!) All in all, it was a great Saturday. Hope everyone has a great week.

Pray for Stellan....

He is being transported to a hospital in Boston tomorrow.... Please pray for him and his family, a safe flight, doctor's wisdom and that he will be home soon....

"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will answer him;
I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation...

Happy 5 Month Birthday!!

Katelynn turned 5 months yesterday! Time is flying by too fast and she is getting so BIG!! We haven't hit any other milestones (except for being the cutest, sweetest baby EVER!) but we are going to try cereal again soon and we will be sitting up on our own before you know it.

She is sleeping a little longer at night. Monday night she feel asleep at 7:15 and woke at 11:30 to eat and then slept until 7:15 am! Today she woke up at 5:00 to eat but stayed awake until 7:00. Oh well, I am getting enough sleep. We usually manage to nap for a few minutes together when I get home from work. We have a picture appointment next Tuesday, hopefully that goes well. I think we are going to wear our Easter dress. Too cute of a dress to only get to wear once. =)

Uncle Paul and Aunt Angela

Easter Saturday and Easter Morning....

Happy Easter......

Well, it was a fun filled weekend for the Bateman family!! It started at about 11:00 am Saturday and it did not end until about 7:30 this evening, but it was great (And Katelynn was a champ thru it all.) As Brian said earlier, "That's Easter weekend when you have the only grandbaby on both sides." We had lunch Saturday with Brian's family (and Katelynn was sporting her Easter dress from Lolli and Pop, too cute!!). Food was GRRRRREAT and we got to see the Aunts (Jules and Em) and the Great Aunts and Great Grandma. Aunt Emily gave Katelynn a cute little stuffed rabbit that she really seems to like. Then it was off to Okarche and The Hunt. Katelynn did not participate but watched and I think she got a few pointers that she will use next year when she is mobile and knows what chocolate is. The food there was also WONDERFUL and the company was not too shabby. =) Grandpa and Grandma B showed up with a box (and I mean a large box) full of all kinds of stuff for K!! It was so much fun going through it. Outfits, books, socks, bows, etc., etc. Then we came home and went to bed and waited for the Easter Bunny. He did come and greatly appreciated his plate of baby carrots and lettuce. He liked it so much he left Katelynn and Easter Basket full of books, babylegs and a stuffed bunny.We made it to the 8:15 service at Church and then to Sunday School. After a quick break at home, we headed off to Fletcher to see Uncle Paul and Aunt Angela. Katelynn is Paul's Mini-Me. Everyone says so......(maybe one day, his little girl will look like me. I think that is only fair.) And Katelynn really seemed to enjoy Aunt Angela. Nanaw Mickie was with us, and for some reason the Easter Bunny left another basket for Katelynn at her house, Silly Easter Bunny. She now has a bunny teether and a Pinnochio DVD. (OK, that is not spelled correctly but I am too tired to go look at the DVD.) So now it is time for Mommy to finally get to bed (after I read a bit more of my book.) It was great seeing the family this weekend. We love you all!! HOPPY EASTER!!

Last One...

OK, here is the last one. Katelynn got her a new pair of shades and she seems to like them. Well, she doesn't scream when we put them on her and she leaves them on, so for me, that's a win!!

My New Hat

Katelynn received a package in the mail Thursday. My Mema sent her a pink hat she had made for her. Pretty cute little crocheted hat and K seems to like it also..

Smiling Baby....

This is Katelynn in a nutshell ......... Happy Baby! She is really such a sweetheart.

Trying Ice Cream

Not really.It looks worse than it was. I was eating a Skinny Cow Fudgesicle (YUM YUM) and put it up to K's mouth. She then just drooled "chocolate" all over her face. So stinkin' cute!!

Happy Easter......

I tried to take pics of Katelynn for Easter. The photography studio was booked until next Tuesday so I thought, how hard can it really be? Very very hard!!! She is still pretty cute, but there weren't very many where you could see her dress, or even her face, for that matter. Oh well, we tried. She loves her some eggs. Happy Easter to everyone!!

Busy Saturday......

We had a very busy Saturday yesterday. Daddy had a basketball tournament (It's actually today, but it still made yesterday busy thinking it was yesterday....do you follow?) Katelynn and I headed with Aunt Tami to Kingfisher for a jewelry party. Aunt Amy hosted a Premiere Jewelry party and we got to hang with the family. At that party someone was there that was also having a Scentsy party down the street, so we decided we would hit that too. =) Katelynn loves to shop, so this was right up her alley. While we were at Amy's we got to be part of the Easter Egg Filling tradition. I had no idea this tradition even existed!!! Oh, the fun things I get to do now with Katelynn. I have such a great time with my family. My Aunts are AMAZING!!!!! and my cousins are like my sisters. I can't really say that I didn't have sisters growing up cause I had four of the best sisters in my cousins and since we have gotten older, we have only gotten closer. On our way home, we had to stop and see Nanaw Mickie at work (and Tami picked up a chicken and some okra). Once we got home, we meet our friends Craig and Jessica for dinner. We went to the Deep Deuce Grill in Bricktown. I had me a tastey burger.......=) Unfortunately, K didn't sleep all that well last night so Daddy let us sleep in this morning and he went on to church. Uncle Paul and Aunt Angela are supposed to be in town today and we are going to try to meet up with them for dinner. I hope we get to see them. They will not recognize baby K, she is getting so big. I hope everyone has a great week and don't forget to pray for baby Stellan. He is doing a bit better, but has been moved into a private room in the PICU becasue he has contracted the rotovirus. Keep up with the prayers, he is a sweet little baby that needs all of us.

Finding the time....

I have figured out that finding the time to do a lot of things isn't as easy as it used to be. (You moms, stop laughing.) So it is Thursday morning and Katelynn is still sleeping and I have a few minutes before I have to leave for work. Katelynn has been great. We haven't tried cereal again, but we will soon. Brian and I have been trying to take her for walks when he gets home from work. But with the Oklahoma weather, you never know when it is going to rain/snow/hail. So they tend to be quick. I have been trying to keep up with Katelynn's scrapbook. So Saturday we did her St. Patrick's Day page. (Cousins, I definitely need your help.) But at least I am trying. I moved offices yesterday. So now I am in the office we have finished building. BUT this is not the office we have built for ourselves, so I have one more move before we are in our "permanent" place. Brian is busy with work. He still goes to Tulsa every once in a while, but that is good...it means work. I best get to work. Unfortunatley we don't have internet yet, so I haveto find other ways to get everything done.
