Merry Christmas!!

Katelynn decided this year that Santa "was her friend" and she wanted a picture taken with him. So we loaded up the girls and headed to Northpark Mall to get pictures with Santa.
Katelynn did just fine but Aubrey didn't like sitting on the jolly man's lap. Oh well, who could really blame her.

I also snapped a picture of my three little babes under the tree. Best! Christmas! Present! This! Year!!

On Christmas Eve Chippie made his final appearance of the year. He left a little note for Katelynn and Aubrey and I know they are already looking forward to seeing him next year.

The girls and I had our 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Night. We made sugar cookies and melted snowman cookies for Santa. Katelynn was really into the decorating this year.

Katelynn is starting to grasp the idea of Santa Clause. So she was super excited for Christmas Eve to arrive.
Here is our living room after Santa arrived. (Yes, I have a strand of lights out!!)

Our Christmas morning was so much fun.
Katelynn was so excited when she saw her "dolly-house". She had seen it the night before when she had woken up and walked into the living room, so she knew it was waiting for her!!
She loved everything about it. She even let Aubrey play with it for a little while.

But Mommy loves that Katelynn still loves her some books!!

Santa brought Aubrey a Bouncy Cow that Katelynn named Margaret. I am not sure why or if that is what Katelynn even said. But whatever she said sounded like Margaret, and it has stuck!!

Noah came over that evening and was greeted immediately by kisses from the girls.

Then it was his turn on Ol' Margaret!!

Noah was so funny opening up his gifts. Every time Angela opened a present he would squeal!! I think Brian sent a video of it to Paul.

Here is a picture of Aubrey with her favorite gift, a stroller from Nanaw.
She is telling me to be quiet, her baby is sleeping.

I cannot wait until next year! Christmas with my two little girls, it's going to be a blast!!
Paul will be home and Kris and Miriam and baby Ridgley might be here also. It is going to be a great year leading up until next Christmas!!

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!!

A Month in Review

I know it has been over a month since I have last posted but it has been crazy fun with work and around the Bateman house. We have been getting ready for Christmas!!
And we did get ready for Christmas and we've had Christmas. Funny how that works, huh?

Here is a little bit of stuff we did leading up to Christmas...

In November Brain and I tool Katelynn to her First OU Football game. It was against Baylor and it was in Waco. We hit all the happening spots in Waco, OK, we went to George's that is about all they got! But it is Daddy's favorite place to....eat so we are passing on that tradition to Katelynn. She loved it too. (Although she kept calling it John's!) George's is also where Katelynn had catfish for the first time. It was her choice and she liked it so much she ordered it again Saturday for lunch!!

Saturday we woke up and met some of Brian's friends who went to Baylor. We all walked around the campus, Brain was re-living his glory days. Katelynn really enjoyed all the buildings and pretending she was at "school". It was so much fun.
We took her to see the bears on campus and she really liked that. They were a little lazy, but who can blame them.

The game was in the evening and the outcome was not what daddy wanted. Baylor ended up beating OU for the FIRST TIME EVER!! Katelynn is now banned from all football games. Sorry Sister!

After our trip to Waco we started getting ready for the Holidays.

Thanksgiving was just the four of us and we had a really relaxing time. Mommy made her first turkey and it was OK. And then we just chilled, we loved it!!

Chippie our elf soon made his appearance and the girls had so much fun looking for him each and every morning. Aubrey would wave to him when she saw him and get this HUGE smile on her face. Katelynn would remind everyone "You can't touch Chippie!! He'll lose his magic!"

Chippie turned up in some peculiar places but I think the girls liked his tea party with Tinkerbelle best!

Then we spent a lot of time making ornaments for the tree and goodies for Katelynn's class party. She was a bit help with all of our crafting adventures this year.

We also finished up the 53 clothespin people just in the nick of time!!!!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your Hair.....

and let's PARTY!!
This Friday was Katelynn's and Ryan's 3rd and 6th Birthday Party!!

Katelynn wanted to have a Tangled theme and Ryan was kind enough to let us.
We had a combo Knight/Tangled Princess party and it was a good time.

I really enjoy sharing the party with Ryan (and my cousin Tami) because I get to spend time with family and that is what I love. But I think this may be the last year. Ryan was a champ, but you could see he was questioning all the Tangled decorations. OK, OK, so I went overboard as usual!! =)
Here are a few pictures from the party.

We made a long braid for the front door. This set the mood for the Tangled-ness that was about to explode in your face. Yep, Ryan, you're right. Nothing here that says a 6 year old boy's party. Sorry.......again.

Tami made up a cute table for the cupcakes and the food. She had Knight Shields and Swords for the guests.

I made the cupcakes and found some adorable cupcakes toppers by sweetenyourday an Etsy shop. They were fairytale books, and then, of course, Tangled toppers. There was a frying pan, a braid, a crown, a paintbrush and Paschal. He was definitely the favorite!!

I also made some jello cups that represented when Eugene and Rapunzel were out on the water waiting for the lanterns to be released. This seemed to be a pretty big hit at the party. Who knew that everyone still loves jello!!

We also served some of the sides in frying pans, Rapunzel's weapon of choice. But I forgot to take pictures of that.
Tami and Thomas supplied a banquet, literally, of hotdogs, beans, chips, queso...I could go on and on.

It was a lot of fun!

And also our prayers were answered and it was warm enough for the Bounce House to be set up in the backyard! I think the kids really enjoyed this.

"Look Mom!! I'm flying....."

Thomas also went above and beyond in decorating the backyard. Everything was perfect!!!
My pictures did not turn out because of the flash but he put white lights all over the play fort in the backyard. It was so nice.

I think both Ryan and Katelynn enjoyed their party.
I don't know, maybe they are wishing for a joint Birthday party again next year.
Ryan, it's your choice next. I promise!!!
