Katelynn's New BFF!

Uncle Kris was in town last weekend and he and Katelynn became fast friends. They will Skype on the computer every few weeks and I think she remembers that. We have been trying to get her to say Uncle Kris which she will, every once in a while, but refers to Kris as "Uncle". She has no problems saying Uncle Paul, and much to Kris' dismay, says it rather frequently. Oh well, she loves both her Uncles but I think she bonded with Uncle this weekend.

Above, Uncle is teaching Katelynn how to bid on/buy motorcycle parts on eBay. A skill that will come in handy. :)

Uncle had to give Katelynn a lift to the patio on Friday night after they played soccer in the backyard with the big blue ball. Katelynn was just too worn out to make the trek all by herself.

Come back soon Uncle, we already miss you!!!!

DAD Pictures

For Father's Day I decided to give photography a shot and take pics of Katelynn for Brian. I had her hold the letters to spell out Dad and then framed them for B. I thought they would look fabulous on his desk at work!! We went out on thursday and took a few pictures and then tried to find a frame they would fit in. Of course, my favorite pictures were going the wrong direction for the frame and then in all the "good" pictures she was holding a D and couldn't find an A anywhere. But after all was said and done, I think they turned out just great. I mean, have you ever seen a bad picture of Katelynn? I didn't think so. =) After I was feeling a little discouraged I went to Walgreen's to pick up the pictures and they actually asked me for the Copyright release for the pictures. I was flattered that they thought these were professionally taken, but I will give that credit to the Mac computer. There are some really neat effects you can apply to your pictures. I hope everyone had a great Father's Day!!

Baby Girl Bateman

This Saturday Brian took me and Katelynn to Stork Vision for my Mother's Day Gift. He got us a 3D/4D ultrasound. It was so neat to see Tis up on the big screen!! =) K wasn't all that interested, but she wasn't feeling too hot either. Tis did not cooperate all that well, but we did get some good shots of her profile. (She kept her face pressed up against something at all times.) The place was very nice and the people who worked there were super sweet!! They had some of the neatest little baby stuff there. Tutus and onesies, they were all so cute.
Here are a couple of pics of Tis. I think in the second picture she looks like Brian.

Busy Weekend......

We had an incredibly busy weekend again. We had a Birthday Party and celebrated Father's Day early so we were on the run!! Katelynn got to see most of her Aunts and Uncles this weekend. It was my brother's, "Unca Paul", birthday on Friday so we went to a cookout and pool party on Saturday. Katelynn and Brian went swimming and Katelynn loves the water. We ate way too much and got to hang out with Paul, Angela, Josh, Jill and Gina. It was a really good time. After that party we headed to Lolli and Pop's house to celebrate Father's Day since Aunt Julie and Auntie Emm were in town. Once again, ate too much and did some swimming. K was having a bit of rough week, 4 molars and 2 incisors are trying to come in, so K and I left early. Sunday she seemed to be doing better. Nanaw Mickie met us at Toys R Us because she wanted to get K her birthday present, way early. She got her a playhouse but wanted her to be able to play with it over the summer. While we were there, I bought K a Cozy Coupe. She loved the car when we were at Uncle Pauls' birthday party so we/I decided she had to have one. It was like Christmas in June for Miss Katelynn this weekend!!

Katelynn couldn't wait for Brian to get the car put together before she hopped in! She was very excited. She "rode" around in it all night last night and has been in it all day today. (She found a set of Brian's old car keys with the key fob on them. She will hold the fob out the car's side window and click it like she is opening a garage door or something. Silly girl.)

My Girlie Girl..

Katelynn has become my little girlie girl and I love it. She is starting to like bows in her hair, but only when she wants them in there and they come out when she decides it has been long enough. She will wear hats now. She even lets me put her hair into pigtails and ponytails. Best of all, she loves her shoes!! She will change shoes two or three times a day. She has started to wear my shoes around the house. At first, she would get them from the closet and have me put them on. Now she will walk around in them. We went to a birthday party on the day of the Kentucky Derby so it was Derby Themed. We made K a hat to wear. She wore it a bit, but not much. Now I will come home from lunch to find her wearing the hat and pushing her stroller around. I guess you have to have the right accessories to push around the stroller. She is such a funny little girl. Here are a few pics of her in her derby hat and momma's shoes. Enjoy!

A Few Pics to Keep You Updated...

on all that been happening around the Bateman house. Actually, a lot has been happening, but none of it is really BIG news. The weather has been pretty crazy and keeping us on our toes, but luckily we haven't had any damage. It has been keeping us in the house more than little Miss K would like, but we have pulled our chairs out onto the front porch a couple of times and watched it rain. (She doesn't understand why we can't walk up and down the sidewalk while it is raining so that leads to a bit of a tantrum, but we can usually divert her attention before it gets out of control.)

We have been having picnics inside with her new table and we
even had a picnic in the livingroom with the whole family on Friday night. That turned into K crawling up on the table and under the "picnic blanket" pretending she was the baby going night night, so daddy had to join in on that fun.

Katelynn also decided to try and style her own hair one afternoon. I watched her in her room rubbing her head, but I thought she was just pretending (she always does this). That was until I saw her pick up the jar of Vaseline. YUCK!! It took five (5) shampoos and a vigorous head rubbing with a towel by daddy to get it all out.

And like I mentioned before, there was a lot of looking out the windows and watching the storms. (Sorry Gary England, I know you said to stay away from the windows, but that is just too darn hard!)

Well, that's really been our week in a nutshell. No names for the new baby, we haven't started on K's big girl room or the "renovations" to the nursery, so no big news on that front. I am going to leave you with a picture of my two most favorite people in the world and hope everyone has a great week. How can you NOT have a great week after seeing these two smiles?!

Busy Weekend......

We had a very busy weekend . We were non-stop until this afternoon. Brian had been buying flowers all week long and Saturday was his day to get them planted. He pulled some sick holly bushes out of the front flowerbed and replaced then with bagonias and a couple of new shrubs. He also planted the ornamental sweet potato in the front bed and did most of his flower pots. He has a couple more left to do but what he did looks wonderful!! While he was working in the yard, K and I hit the mall. I needed to get her a pair of shoes to wear with her dresses and summer outfits so we headed to Stride Rite. I had just bought her her tennis shoes a few months ago so when the asked if she needed to be measured I said "Sure. She's a 3 1/2 but if she is closer to a 4, maybe we should look at 4 1/2 cause I don't want her growing out of them before the end of the summer." Glad they measured her. She's a 5!!!! I have been stuffing my baby girl's size 5 into a 3 1/2 for months! I feel terrible. The lady said it happens all the time and the leather actually stretches out so it wasn't painful for her. I still felt bad, so I bought her 2 pairs! She loves her pink tennies but isn't too found of her white sandals. She carried her pink shoes with her for the rest of the day on Saturday. After church today when I took off her sandals, she pitched them off the changing table onto the floor and then grabbed her pink shoes. Oh well. While we were at the mall we hit a huge sale at Penny's and then went and bought me a few shirts. Then we went grocery shopping at Target. K slept through the Target trip, so I carrried while I shopped and she drooled down my shoulder, so sweet.
We finally made it home and fixed lunch, then it was time to hit our first party. My boss' dad turned 80 on Saturday so they had a Kentucky Derby themed party. It was really neat. All the ladies wore big hats and dresses and the guys were derbys. Mint juleps were served and so was what smelled like a deee-licious meal. I made K a big ol' pink hat with feathers. She wore it for a lot longer than I thought she would. We had to leave early to make it to our second birthday party. Our friends were having a cookout for Jessica's b-day. Our Sunday School class was invited and a ton of people showed up. They kids all played outside and we stood around and put band-aids on skinned knees, wiped mud off shoes, etc. etc. It was a really fun time. We stayed a little too late, well way past my and K's bedtime. So we woke up early this morning and headed to church and then came straight home, had lunch and tried to take a nap. K was fighting it, but after a while she relented and we caught a couple of zzz's.

This weekend was fun, busy, but fun. K is growing so fast and pretty soon it won't be just the three of us, so I am enjoying all the time I have with my two favorite people.

B is getting K to sleep right now and I am about to crawl into bed to read a book. Ahhh, Sunday nights. I am going to leave you with a picture of my little girl in her pj's Grandma Owana bought for her. Isn't she just the cutest!!?
